" The Farmer in the Dell "
マザーグースの歌のひとつです。
農夫が奥さんを、奥さんが子どもを...と次々に列が長くなっていく、
楽しい歌です。
いろんな国で、それぞれの言葉で歌われているようです。
歌詞にはいろいろなバリエーションがあります。
ここには Wikipedia に載っていたものを載せていますが、
子どもの後に乳母（nurse）が来て、その後は犬（dog）という
パターンも多いようです。
繰り返し部分は Heigh-ho でなく Hi-ho と綴るものが多い
ようですが、これにもいろいろなバリエーションがあるようです。
遊び方もいろいろ。
真ん中に農夫役の子、その周りに他の子たちが円を作り、
１人ずつ円の中に入れていくパターンや、子たちが作った円の
周りを農夫が回って１人ずつピックアップしていくパターンなど、
いくつかあるようです。
